Maximillian Meyers is an experienced Ecological Designer, Permaculture Teacher, Consultant, Commercial Aquaponics System Designer/Installer, Rainwater and Greywater System specialist, Farmer, and the Executive Director of Nor Cal Aquaponics, www.norcalaquaponics.com & the Mendocino Ecological Learning Center (MELC), www.melc.us. In 2003 he founded MELC, a nonprofit educational organization and ecological reserve offering green job training and sustainable living skills to the public. In addition to the work at MELC, Mr. Meyers provides Ecological design services to the public, organizations, and schools through Osiris Designs, Nor Cal Aquaponics and Living Mandala, www.livingmandala.com. Mr. Meyers has instructed well over 35 courses in Permaculture and Ecological Design in 7 countries around the world. He is passionate about all things related to a more just and sustainable world. Mr. Meyers has become the world’s leading expert in Aquaponics with Applied Permaculture. He has been studying, practicing and teaching Permaculture and Ecological Design for 13 years.
Since graduating from New College of California with a M.A. degree in Culture, Ecology and Sustainable Communities, Max has become a certified Permaculture designer/teacher, water systems specialist and working professional. He has been fortunate enough to study and work with people like Bill Mollison, Geoff Lawton, Sepp Holzer, Tom Ward, Jude Hobbs, John Valenzuela, Penny Livingston and many others in places like the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and Hawaii. Some of his fields of study and practice include: Natural Building, Organic Farming, Integrated Rainwater Harvesting, Alternative Transportation, Mushroom Cultivation, Sustainable Forestry, Beekeeping, Animal Husbandry, Renewable Energy, Biogas Production and use, Greywater Systems design and installation, Vermaculture, seed saving and many other sustainable technologies, methods and skills. He has experience teaching Permaculture, Natural Building, Cob Construction, Renewable Energy, Organic Farming, Beekeeping and others.
