Kermit Carter has been involved in Biodynamic agriculture for 37 years, beginning as an apprentice of the British master gardener Alan Chadwick. For the last 13 years, he has managed Flowers by the Sea, a Demeter certified Biodynamic farm on the coast in Elk, California. The farm produces vegetables, herbs, flowers, nursery stock, eggs, milk and meat - all aimed at the needs of the local foodshed. Mr. Carter was a co-founder and cheese maker for the Elk Creamery, California's first certified organic goat dairy. He brings decades of experience to bear on the practical needs of local, small scale agriculture in a lively and educational fashion, with the goal of helping his students grow in their understanding of the plants and animals that we care for. More information about Flowers by the Sea can be found on their web site - www.fbts.com.
