BD 301: Biodiesel Intensive: From the Processor to the Pump
Jun 8-10 2007

Biodiesel is becoming a hotter topic every day as oil prices continue to climb. There is currently not enough supply of biodiesel to meet consumer demand, creating a huge opportunity for people interested in getting involved in the biodiesel industry.

Find out how you can make your own biodiesel for use in your community, support local biodiesel co-ops, or start a small business in biodiesel distribution or retail.

This workshop will offer hands-on building of biodiesel processors (the first five interested students who purchase the materials will get to take their processor home!).

You will also learn about:

  • Fuel procurement and quality testing
  • Hands-on equipment building, maintenance and plumbing
  • Taxes, permits,& zoning
  • Procuring a supply of vegetable oil
  • Developing your market
  • The U.S. biodiesel industry

In this valuable workshop taught by pioneers, activists, and experts in the biodiesel industry, you will gain essential skills to launch you into the burgeoning biodiesel market.
