PV 300: Advanced PV Systems - NOW 25% off *Limited Availability*

This advanced course has been accredited by the Institute for Sustainable Power Quality (ISP) and follows the NABCEP PV Installer Certification Task Analysis. It is especially useful for people who currently work in the PV industry. The workshop is the companion to the PV Design and Installation Intensive providing more advanced material. This 5-day workshop is primarily lecture & discussion with limited advanced hands-on training; it challenges participants to tackle many of the decisions presented to PV designer & installer to meet NEC regulations. Knowledge and experience in PV is assumed, see prerequisites listed below.

  • PV System Design and Racking
  • Batteries and Charge Controllers
  • Inverters
  • Wire Sizing and Wiring Details
  • OCPD Sizing
  • Point-of-Utility Connection
  • Grounding
  • Ground Fault Protection (GFP)
  • Electrical Diagrams
  • Labeling
  • PV Site Assessment
  • Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Safety
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting
  • NEC

Prerequisite:

One or more of the following:

  • Completion of SLI PV Installation & Design Course (PV 121 or 200) or certificate of completion from an ISPQ-accredited institution.
  • Two years of design, installation or related experience with proper documentation.
  • Entry-level NABCEP certification with documentation.
  • Exceptions to the above may be granted by the SLI after careful review of email request and telephone interview.
Course fees include a course text book and other resource materials. Please bring a recent copy of the National Electric Code (NEC) code book and a trigonometry calculator with you to class.
