Home -PRICE REDUCED 50%- SL 106: Introduction to Primitive Technology Nov 14 2009, 9:00AM - 5:00PM Join us as we explore hunter gatherer skills used by humans all around the world. Being aware and comfortable with fundamental human skills such as obtaining food and making fire provides a deep appreciation for true sustainability. Students will learn how to provide for themselves by living off of the land, while also learning more about the indigenous cultures that specialize in living in harmony with nature. Students will learn essential living skills through the following hands-on activities: make fire with hand-drill and bow-drill kits; process dogbane fiber and make string; practice with hunting tools, including throwing rabbitsticks, spearthrowers, bow & arrow; learn basic stone and wood-working techniques through pine nut bead-making, shaping and polishing stone; and processing acorns.
