Greetings!
If you're curious about what new ideas are percolating,
want to learn ancient skills, embrace new technologies, or simply gather with fellow
pioneers and kindred spirits to celebrate how far we've come, then SolFest is the place.
Gas and food prices have skyrocketed, peak
oil is a reality, and global climate change
has brought more floods, hurricanes, and fires.
But Solfest is about positive
change through positive modeling. Come
learn, laugh, dance, shop, eat, play and get inspired at the 13th
annual SolFest, August 16-17. We're happy to welcome the best and the brightest in the
world of sustainability to our beautiful
12-acre permaculture oasis: The Solar Living Center in Hopland, California.
We've gathered great
speakers, musicians, and thinkers to inspire and educate all of us. Learn from
these experts in over 60 workshops and main stage educational panels, dance and
celebrate to music with a message.

 SolFest Education

 Music & Entertainment
When your head is filled and you need to let your mind relax
and your body move come enjoy the main stage music.
Or try the
minstrel stage by the pond featuring local artists -- a perfect place to get out
of the main stream for a while and relax.
Maria Muldaur brings to us
her long musical evolution beginning in the burgeoning counter culture music
scene of the 60s in Greenwich Village and bringing her most recently into the
studio to record for Barack Obama's campaign and now onto the SolFest stage in
a critical examination of where we are as a nation and where we're going.
New Monsoon will have you on your feet with an exhilarating marriage of acoustic and
electric instruments comes together in an irresistible blend of sophisticated
songcraft, inventive musical exploration and down home rock-n-roll.
You're sure
to enjoy the performance of Blane Lyon, speaking his truth through music, with political and heartfelt lyrics that are embraced in a true original
funkiness.
The Saturday night Moondance
is always a fun and festive time with the Troupe de Trash fashion show that
turns vogue on it's head with their high end clothes made from trash. Albino's high-energy
grooves and explosive stage show highlight the Moondance this year.
